St. Luke's Favorite Hymns 2023

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

Abide With Me

All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name

Alleluia! Voices Raise

Amazing Grace

Beautiful Savior

Blessed Assurance

Canticle of the Turning

Children of the Heavenly Father

Come Join the Dance of Trinity

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing

Crown Him With Many Crowns

Day By Day

Dona Nobis Pacem

Earth and all Stars

Gather Us in

God of the Sparrow

Gracious Spirit, Heed Our Pleading

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Have No Fear, Little Flock

Holy Holy Holy Lord God Almighty

How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds

I Know That My Redeemer Lives

I Love To Tell The Story

I Want to Walk As A Child of the Light

I'm So Glad Jesus Lifted Me

Jesus Loves Me

Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

Let All Things Now Living

Let Us Ever Walk With Jesus

Let Us Talents and Tongues Employ

Lift High The Cross

Lord, Let My Heart Be Good Soil

Lord, Listen To Your Children Praying

Lord of All Hopefulness

Lord, You Give the Great Commission

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling

My Hope is Built On Nothing Less (both versions)

My Life Flows On In Endless Song

O Day Full of Grace

Oh For A Thousand Tongues to Sing

O God of Love, O King of Peace

O God Our Help in Ages Past

Oh, That the Lord Would Guide My Ways

On Eagle's Wings

Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow

Praise Ye The Lord

Rock of Ages Cleft for Me

Send Me, Lord

Shall We Gather at the RIver?

Shepherd Me, O God

Shine, Jesus, Shine

Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling

Soon and Very Soon

Take My Life That I May Be

The Lord Now Sends Us Forth

The Lord's My Shepherd

There's A Wideness in God's Mercy

Thine the Amen

This Little Light of Mine

This is My Father's World

We Are Marching in the Light

We Walk By Faith

What A Fellowship, What a Joy Divine

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

What is This Place

It Is Well With My Soul

Will You Come and Follow Me

You Are Mine

While going through the music area over the years, I've found a bound collection of hymns and a list titled, "St. Luke's Favorite Hymns." Neither of these are dated but I thought it would be fun to include them as well. You can look at what's new, what's been a constant or maybe even be reminded of an old favorite. If you have any information on where the bound book or list came from, please contact me, I'd love to know their history.

"Old Time Favorite Hymns of St. Luke Congregation"

Blessed Assurance

Bright the Corner Where You Are

Bringing in the Sheaves

Give Me That Old Time Religion

God Will Take Care of You

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Have Thine Own Way

He's Got the Whole World In His Hands

I Need Thee Every Hour

In the Bleak Midwinter

In the Garden

In the Sweet By and By

It Is No Secret What God Can Do

Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross

Jesus Lover of My Soul

Jesus Loves Me

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You

Nearer My God To Thee

O Happy Home

On Eagle's Wings

Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior

Put Your Hand in the Hand

Shall We Gather At The River

Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling

Sweet Hour Of Prayer

The Little Brown Church in the Vale

The Old Rugged Cross

There'll Be Peace in the Valley

We Are One in the Spirit

When the Roll is Called Up Yonder

When the Saint's Go Marching In

Wonderful Words of Life

Yield Not To Temptation

"St Luke Favorite Hymns"

As I looked over the lists, it was fun to see the hymns common to all three: "Blessed Assurance," "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," "Jesus Loves Me," "On Eagle's Wings," "Shall We Gather At The River?," and "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling." The previous list of favorite hymns and our newly voted ones overlapped by 26 titles, while the bound "Favorite Hymns" only had one overlap with the new list. I'll post the new list, the old list and the bound book in the Fellowship Hall for October for those who are curious and maybe even spark a coffee hour discussion! Thanks to everyone who voted, I look forward to the next time we check in on our favorites again!
